History of Ironwood

Ironwood is a well-established residential subdivision located in north Normal, Illinois. The community began development in the late 1980s and early 1990s as part of a planned effort to create a neighborhood centered around open green space and recreational amenities. A defining feature of the area is the Ironwood Golf Course, an 18-hole public course designed by golf course architect Roger Packard, which opened in the early 1990s and continues to be an important landmark for the community.

Over time, Ironwood grew into a neighborhood of nearly 600 homes, with a mix of architectural styles and lot sizes. Scenic ponds, walking areas, and landscaped common spaces were incorporated into the design to enhance both stormwater management and the overall appearance of the community. Today, Ironwood remains a mature and desirable neighborhood known for its quiet streets, established trees, and strong sense of community.

The Ironwood Homeowners Association

The Ironwood Homeowners Association (IHOA) was formed to help preserve the character of the neighborhood and to manage and maintain common areas for the benefit of all residents. The Association is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and operates in accordance with its governing documents, including the Covenants, By-Laws, and Rules and Regulations.

The IHOA works to promote responsible property ownership, maintain shared green spaces, and support community standards that protect property values and enhance quality of life. Regular meetings, newsletters, and online communication help keep homeowners informed about neighborhood matters and upcoming activities.

Our Commitment

The Ironwood Homeowners Association is committed to fostering a safe, attractive, and welcoming neighborhood. By working together as a community, residents help preserve the long-term value of their homes and ensure that Ironwood remains a desirable place to live for current and future homeowners.
